The temperature is rising, the snow is melting, and the winter damage is evident in Montgomery Hall Park. It’s time to get the trails ready for springtime rides and runs. On Sunday, March 14 at 8:00 am Queen City Cycling will be holding its first trail work day of 2010. We will be working on clearing the trail of limbs, fallen trees, etc on the existing trails. The short sapling stumps need to be removed and with the soft ground, these will be easier to remove. And we will be working on a reroute on the soccer field side of Scout Trail. We will meet at the Soccer field parking lot at 8am. Tools needed: Loppers Trail saws Garden Rake Mattock Shovel Machete Strong Back Gloves Eye Protection Please come out and help bring the trails out of their winter hibernation. VORS PayDirt program: If you are competing in the Virginia Off Road Series you can earn points for your Series total by working on certified Trail Projects. This workday is one that counts.
