Wow! What a fantastic question, James! You really got me thinking. So here goes....
Favorite scenery: Summerdean Rd., southbound. 2nd place to Rockfish Rd.
Favorite climb: Luck Stone. Even though I've done it a million times, I think it's perfect. I also love a little dirt road climb on Stonewall Rd. (off Fadley Rd.) Very fun.
Favorite descent: Rt. 250 coming off Shenandoah Mountain. Yeehaaa!!!
Favorite big-ring romp: Middlebrook Rd. from Arborhill to Staunton. 2nd place to North River Rd. northbound from Stokesville.
AND THE OVERALL WINNER: Has to be Middlebrook Rd. all the way from the Rockbridge line back to town. It's got everything.
And I have to add: My least favorite road is Bunker Hill/Union Church on the way back to town. Those big rollers are just killers at the end of a long ride.
The important thing is that Augusta County is such a fantastic place to ride a bike.

We are very lucky to have Augusta County roads to ride on and low traffic for the most part, and considerate drivers. Great Roads, great trails, doesn't get much better than here.

I agree we have numerous great rides, roads in Augusta County, but what is your favorite for scenery, decents, ascents, etc.
My fav road all out in Augusta county is decending into Middlebrook on Cherry Grove, or Cherry Hill, or whatever the name of it is.
I also have to say Glebe and Summerdean to be a very close second.
