This Sunday, April 5, the cycling press will descend upon sleepy Staunton Virginia for the Ronde van Augusta. The Ronde will surely test the mettle of local riders as it rolls through southern Augusta county. The route is a difficult journey making use of the region's storied pave roads. Who will emerge victorious? Who will breakaway early to get on tv? Will the descent to Wade's Mill be decisive or will the gravel ascent that follows prove to be the ride winning section? The only way to truly know the answers is to show up at Black Dog Bikes on Sunday at 10am for the ride. Road bike with GOOD tires is suggested. helmet mandatory. bring some tubes, water, food etc. Team cars and feed zones will not be utilized on this ride. For those who wish to reconnoiter the RvA, a Map has been produced. www.mapmyride.com/route/us/va/staunton/798123859813595381For more information contact Mark or James.

This should be great! The weather forecast is perfect. A nice rain on Friday will keep the dust down. Hopefully VDOT has been stingy with the gravel and the roads will be smooth and fast. Looking forward to it.

I rode the Arbor Hill section of Gravel yesterday and it was nice and smoothed out. No deep gravel anywhere. The conditions should be sweet for tommorrow!
